New Quincy Blues Stuff
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great time at last weekend's Blue Note Open! The Team Category winner was the team of Mark Reuschel, Joe Wells, John Snyder, and Kevin Buss. They shot an astounding total team score of 139. That's an average of 3.86 strokes per hole, per person. The top score from the Individual Category was also Joe Wells, from the same winning team. His score was 28, a 3.11 stroke average per hole. For those of you who played, you know this was quite an accomplishment. And last, but not least, the winner of the Worst Score Category was Erin Mason with a 63. Good job Erin on a consistent 7 strokes per hole average...the max allowable. We'd like to congratulate Erin for her consistency, and hope that she enjoys and uses her booby prize to help her for next year! All in all, everyone appeared to have a real good time. We look forward to the biggest crowd yet next year as the word is out that the Blue Note Open is certainly not an event to miss! We have a few pictures from the event in our Media page if you want to take a look.
On another blue note (pardon the pun), it is time to vote for the W.C. Handy Awards. The W.C. Handy awards are the "Grammys" of Blues. The Best part, is that they are voted on by blues fans! You can vote at www.blues.org Also, check out our Guestbook for more good details on the awards.
Don't forget to check out the Blues Jam next Sunday at Turner Hall in Quincy. This will be another awesome time for all of you local blues fans out there. For more details, see the Guestbook. And for more great music events, don't forget to look at our area Calendar. It has been updated recently and is full of new stuff.
